The Reigning Ms. Wheelchair

 

 

Josie was named Ms. Wheelchair America 2012 in Grand Rapids.  Josie was chosen from 26 amazing women after a series of personal interviews and speeches.

Josie is in her second year of her Ph.D. work in Healthcare Ethics at Duquesne University.  She just completed graduate school for rehabilitation counseling at the University of Pittsburgh in April 2009.  In May of 2007, she graduated summa cum laude from Geneva College, majoring in Disability Law and Advocacy.

Josie has served as president and vice president of the National Youth Leadership Network.  On the state level, Josie is also a founding member, and ex-president of the Pennsylvania Youth Leadership Network. She also works with Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh on the family forum.  Josie was named Glamour Magazine's 11th Top College Women of 2006.  Josie works at the PEAL Center as Youth Coordinator for the State Implementation Grant,   assisting families in healthcare transition.
